But it's weird because every French speaker we know seems to be obsessed with this show and yet most Anglophones in Montreal have hardly ever heard of it.

So what the hell is it?

Here's everything you need to know:

Occupation Double, or "OD" as it is often called, was a popular reality TV show that originally aired from 2003 to 2013 on TVA.

In 2017 the show was revamped and aired an 11th season on V which was a monster hit.

The concept can be best described as Big Brother meets Bachelor in Paradise. In the begining, the show took place in two houses, one for the girl candidates and one for the guys. The candidates were then sent on a series of trips and activities to get to know each other and every week the women get to eliminate one guy, and the guys get to eliminate one girl.

In the later seasons the concept featured a lot more twists and surprises. Sometimes the guys were all eliminated first and the last man standing had to eliminate the girls, and sometimes several candidates got eliminated at once. Basically you just never know what's going to happen or who is going to get kicked out next.

The point of the game is to couple-up and to be the last couple standing. Once the top 4 couples have been chosen, viewers get to vote for their favourite.
