TL;DR Project "The Royalmount" a new 1.7 billion dollar mega mall in Montreal's north-west has been given the green light for construction as of Spring 2019. Check out the photos below for a preview of the project and the vision for the development.

A new sleek and mega mall received the green light for construction in Montreal and the project will be underway as of Spring 2019.

The mega mall is called "The Royalmount" project, after the street on which it will be located: Royal-Mount avenue.

Here are a few 3D renderings of the project, so you can get a feel for exactly what this amazing social hub will look like.

Pretty spectacular!

I'm sure you're all curious as to the exact location of the mall. It will be located at the intersection of the city's two busiest highways, the 15 and the 40.

For those who don't drive, it will also be conveniently close to metro De La Savane. And according to the project's official site and the 3D renderings, the main mall will link directly to the metro station via an above ground tunnel.

Considering the sheer size of the development, you won't be surprised to find out this building isn't just going to be a mall with shops and restaurants.

According to the project's official site, planners hope the space will serve as a "multifunctional urban pole that will be green, local, and innovative."

It will "include a wide variety of uses such as hotels, offices, commercial establishments, restaurants, cinemas, concert halls and other types of entertainment."

In other words, it will be like its own mini downtown in the heart of Montreal.
