I think it's safe to say, a staple of this glorious city is the plethora of awesome summer festivals that make being outside and enjoying the sun exponentially better, if that's even possible. Throw in a huge selection of local and international beers to sample, tasty food to eat, and you maybe have the best festival of them all: The Mondial de la bière Festival!
Le Mondial de la bière is back for its 22nd edition, officially marking the return of summer in Montreal! An entire festival dedicated to delicious hoppy goodness in all its forms that has become one of the biggest in the world since its inception in 1994. Showcasing the very best in local and international breweries, Le Mondial de la bière offers a total hedonistic experience we have definitely come to know and love.
Whether you're a seasoned connoisseur or just enjoy your suds, Beer Fest is the perfect place to sample from a huge selection of beers, ales, and ciders from all around the world in a fun and festive environment. Some of you may remember when the festival was moved inside to Place Bonaventure a couple of years ago, but fear not, this year's edition will be held once again at Palais des congrès, with access to the Esplanade for some fresh air and sunshine to complete the proper beer festival trifecta.
Admission is free with tasting coupons costing a $1 each. Tastings cost between 2 to 8 coupons for 2 to 8 ounce servings, and the Mondial de la bière souvenir glass is designed to accommodate one or two 2-oz samples per tasting, depending on the beer.
This is without a doubt, one of our favourite summer activities in Montreal, as it is for many of you, so to avoid long lineups, we recommend purchasing coupons in advance.
