Don't even bother heading outside of the city to hit the slopes, because the hills are coming to you. Next weekend, the longest urban slopestyle in Canada will be set up along Montreal's St. Denis street for the Empire City Troopers urban snowboarding competition, a free to the public event/competition where you stand to win thousands of dollars.
On Saturday, December 6, St. Denis street from Sherbrooke to Ontario will be transformed into a full-blown snowboarding terrain park complete with jumps and rails. The competition is open to all, and the top 5 prizes total up to a legit $15, 000, so if you got some snowboarding skills, there's your incentive to compete.
Hold On! Did You Know About: The Things No One Else Does Unless They Are A Montrealer? We came up with 11! Leave us comments of more things you can come up with.
The urban slopestyle grounds won't be unveiled until December 1st, in case any of you want to check out the setup before the competition. If you do want to compete, fill out the registration form here, and even if you don't, you'll still be able to witness some sweet snowboarding right here in the city, saving you a trip to the hills.
Oh, and there's going to be an official closing/banquet party after the competition at L'Abrevoir, and the terrace will even be open as of 3pm. The party will be 18+ and is being sponsored by Coors Banquet, so expect big things.
