For those who don't remember, back in November, Station 16, a Montreal based print shop, had over $50, 000 in art stolen. None of the art was recovered. But that hasn't stopped Station 16 from losing its spirit, producing awesome art, and launching their own global art project.
Station 16 launched their own kickstarter campaign 24 days ago, an initiative to fund the creation of 16 silkscreen prints, with 16 artists from around the world, in 16 months. We covered the launch at the beginning of the month (see here) and only 6 days remain in the campaign, with the project 80% funded. To create a series of slikscreens from the world's greatest street artist, Station 16 still needs your help to reach its goal. Any donation goes a long way, so help out a worthwhile global art project here.
Already well on their way to fulfilling their artistic endeavour, Station 16 has its first confirmed artist: PEZ, a Spanish street artist who call Barcelona home, but has made murals around the world. Check out some of PEZ's stuff below, and know that with your help, Station 16 can get artists just as skilled to make some fantastic pieces.
Other than good artistic karma, there are some other personal benefits to contributing to the kickstarter. Donations of $2600 will get you the entire collection of prints from the project. Donate $3750 and Station 16 will send an artist to your home/business and create a personal mural just for you! Well worth the cash, but don't think you need to donate that much. Every dollar counts.
