When eating Montreal's best foods becomes a charitable act, everybody wins. Eating an expertly crafted meal is usually something you, your taste buds, and your belly only benefit from, but this Wednesday your meal can help out others in needy. Eat while giving back this Wednesday, November 12th for World Food Day in Montreal.
Montreal's World Food Day is a global initiative/fundraising projects seeking to raise money to provide safe drinking water to communities in Chaco, Paraguay. More than 25 of Montreal's best eateries are joining forces to finance the installation of 4 wells in the region, which will provide clean drinking water to 2,845 individuals.
And all you need to do is eat to support the project. Each participating restaurant will be donating at least $1, 000 from their Wednesday night service, which include some of the best in the city. Many of you will find yourself dining at these restaurants anyway, which will be a welcome surprise, and any stay-at-home-eaters should head out for a quality meal that will support a good cause.
Here are the participating restaurants:
Le Pois Penché
Le St. Urbain
Tavern on the Square
