Time to move over Cronut.
For a city in love with pastries and bagels, Montreal sure dropped the ball on this new food fusion. Straight out of Williamsburg, Brooklyn is the newest creation from The Bagel Store. Half bagel, half croissant, this is 'The Cragel.' Move over cronut, there's a new food hybrid treat in town.
Described as "a delicate, flaky, buttery croissant baked into a flavorful tasty bagel [with] all the characteristics of a bagel with the delicate flaky taste and texture of a croissant." or just “100% happiness” (by the folks at Today.com), the Cragel has been around since September, but gained international media attention this past week.
This isn't the The Bagel Store's first foray into cray bagels , already having pumpkin pie, gingerbread, and French toast bagels. All of them look delicious, and the Cragel looks to be the perfect mix of salty and sweet to start your morning. Take a look and salivate.
