Making a deliciously unhealthy breakfast needn't be a big production. You can easily just throw a bunch of decadent ingredients into a baking pan, put it in the oven, and call it a breakfast casserole. Sounds too easy to be true, but such is the case with this Baked Chocolate Croissant French Toast from Crazy for Crust, which similarly looks too good to be true.
No breakfast baked good comes together as easily as this recipe, for real. To assemble, all you need to do is cram in a bunch of store bought croissants (getting them from one of Montreal's great croissanteries would surely make for a greater taste) then pour over a standard French Toast mizture (egg + milk + vanilla) and just let the whole thing sit for an hour.
After the croissants have gone from flaky to soaking wet with French Toast juices, top the whole croissant-casserole with chocolate chips (the more the better) and bake for about 45 minutes at 350 Fahrenheit. Take out of the oven, douse with maple syrup, and enjoy a breakfast food fusion that is decadent to say the least. Make sure to prep this bad boy on a Friday night, so as to ease your Saturday hangover.
