Last, Montreal finally adopted the craze that’d been sweeping cities around the world: the . It was a whopping success, and now for another round of eating on-the-go done right. Keep reading to find out which of your favorite restaurants will now be serving out of trucks, and which entirely mobile new eateries you’ll have to try.
Camion Queues de Castor
Your favorite pastry is now available from a truck. These guys serve up their legendary hand-stretched fried dough smothered with decadent spreads in flavors like maple, chocolate-hazelnut, vanilla, and more. They throw yummy toppings on top like bananas, Reese’s pieces, and Oreos. A bite from one of these will put you in dessert heaven.
We’ve already talked about. Now, they’ll be accessible around the city from their brand new food truck. You’ll be able to get your hands on one of their trademark meat pies, packed with delicious fillings like chicken, bacon, and steak. If you still have room after that, you can get their tasty pavlova or sticky date pudding for desert.
Chocolats Geneviève Grandbois
Would you like some chocolate with your chocolate? If so, then head on over to this truck for a sweet treat. They offer delicious chocolates with fillings like hazlenut butter and vanilla caramel. If you’re looking for something a little unconventional, give their Balsamico (with a Balsamic ganache) or Piment (infused with three types of chili peppers) a try.
Get a taste of Germany from this truck. They serve deliciously authentic foods like schnitzel and bratwurst inside of a sandwich or atop a cone of fries. If you want to combine their German offerings with a familiar flavor, you can get them with their equally authentic poutine. Cultural harmony never tasted this good.
Le Smoking BBQ
Head here for some of the city’s best barbecue. They smoke meats such as brisket, pulled pork, and babyback ribs for hours to get that classic barbecue taste you crave. If you’re having trouble choosing between their offerings, get their Smoke-Dog, which is a smoked sausage smothered in pulled pork. If you can’t bear to live without poutine for even one meal, give their signature Pulled Pork Poutine a try.
Lola’s Petits Gateaux
If you thought that there was nothing new to do to the cupcake, you need to try this truck. They serve up the classic desert in exotic flavors like Irish coffee, raspberry-vanilla-hibiscus, and green tea. On top of that, they complement their more offbeat items with delicious takes on traditional flavors like vanilla, chocolate, and red velvet. For something truly unique (and indulgent), give their champagne cupcake a taste.
Pizza Nº 900
We haven’t had any trouble finding, but now it’s available from a truck. These guys use a wood-fired and gas oven to serve up delicious Neapolitan-style pizzas in just a minute and a half. Even better, they top it off with mozzarella that they make themselves and fresh, organic basil and tomatoes.
Thehave been popular recently at Montreal’s eateries, but sometimes all you need are classic foods done well. This family-run truck offers up tasty incarnations of traditional Polish dishes from recipes that’ve been passed through generations. Make sure not to miss out on trying at least one of their twelve flavors of pierogis.
If you’re looking for a donut, this is the truck to go to. Their crispy outsides barely conceal the delicious fluffiness underneath. Try one in a unique flavour like pistachio for a donut experience unlike any other. If fried dough isn’t your thing, their logs and brownies are sure to do the trick.
Long hailed as one of the city’s best falafels, these guys are now bringing their A game to a food truck near you. The chickpea balls are perfectly complimented in their pita sandwiches with tasty toppings like pickles, sauerkraut, and tahini. Pair your sandwich with one of their yummy smoothies for a delectably nutritious treat. You won’t even realize that you’re eating healthy.
