Free Outdoor Movies Are Happening All Weekend Long In Montreal's Old Port

If you love movies and you love Montreal's Old Port, than you'll definitely love this. Starting tomorrow night, and running all weekend long, Scotiabank is bringing three of our favorite movies to the Old Port's summer cinema at St. Laurent Square between Jacques Quartier and King Edward Quays.

In their efforts to strengthen communities and expose the culture that stems from cinema, Fresh Air Cinema, who will be providing the movie screens and equipment to make this event a success alongside Cinema4Change will be hosting over 450 outdoor film screenings throughout Canada, and 2014 marks their 9th year of celebration.

You can expect to see three different movies on three different nights of the weekend. Attend one or attend three, they're 100% free! Be one of the first 300 people to arrive at the location, and you'll receive free popcorn for the evening. Better yet, if you're one of the first 50 to arrive with a Scene debit/ credit card, you'll be allotted to some VIP status seating.

Friday, August 1st:

  • Louis Cyr @ 8:25pm

Saturday, August 2nd:

  • Jaws @ 8:25pm

Sunday, August 3rd:

  • The Amazing Spiderman @ 8:25pm

We can't think of a better way to enjoy a movie than sitting under the stars in the Old Port. Be sure to arrive early and grab some spots, as movies will commence as soon as the sun sets!
