Canada's Biggest Hot Air Balloon Festival Is Coming To Quebec This Summer

With summer just around the corner, festivals all over are announcing their dates and lineups much to the joy of hibernating Canadians. If you're looking for a festival that isn't your cookie cutter drug-fueled music fest, you'll love this one!
The Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau has finally announced its dates for the 2019 edition. From August 29th to September 2nd, take a drive to Gatineau to experience Canada's largest hot air balloon festival.
With over 300 shows and over 60 hours worth of programming planned, Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau is shaping up to be incredible. Last year, more than 200,000 people flocked to the city to experience this amazing festival.

TL;DR Canada's biggest hot air balloon festival is coming to Gatineau this summer! As probably the coolest festival to happen in the area this summer, the Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau is a can't miss experience.
The Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau is Canada's largest festival of its kind, with hundreds of balloons set to lift off in the morning and afternoon over the five day period — a stunning sight to see over Gatineau's Parc de la Baie.
Lift-offs are weather dependent and happen at 6:30 AM and 6 PM. In the morning, access to the site is free so even if you don't have a festival pass, you can see this amazing sight! There are three lift-off sites to maximize the potential of avoiding inclement weather.
Festival passes are on sale for $52 for complete access to the festival grounds. You can even purchase a private hot air balloon ride for you and your friends at $325 dollars! Private rides depend on availability and weather conditions.
Not only can you take in some amazing sights, but you'll also be able to enjoy over 300 different live shows and animations. There are three stages, a fireworks show, an amusement park, an arcade game zone, a silent DJ, yoga, arts and crafts, a graffiti contest, a reptile zone, and so much more!
To give you an idea of how dope this festival is, past iterations have featured artists like Rober Charlebois, Daniel Belanger, Eric Lapointe, Simple Plan, Garou, Our Lady Peace, KC and the Sunshine Band, and the queen herself...Céline Dion.
The full lineup hasn't been released yet, but stay tuned! If its anything like previous years, it might even be better than an actual music festival.
Are you as stoked as I am about this festival? As an alternative to the overpriced and annoying Osheaga, Festival de montgolfières de Gatineau takes the cake!
