IKEA Wants To Pay You To Travel To Copenhagen And "Find The Secret To Happiness"

IKEA will cover all travel expenses and pay for your apartment.

IKEA, the ultra popular Scandinavian furniture retailer, is a go-to for Canadian renters — especially in the month of June, the unofficial moving season in many parts of the country. In addition to its regular cheap stock, however, IKEA is also famous for its frequent sales.

But those offers pale in comparison to one opportunity currently advertised on the IKEA website. Before July 1st, IKEA customers can apply for a chance to win a trip to Denmark to "find the secret to happiness." This isn't just a vacation, though: IKEA will pay you to embark on this journey.

"So, you are also looking for happiness? We hope that you will come visit us in Denmark and help us find all the keys to a real home of happiness. Keys we will share with the rest of the world — and hopefully make everyone in it (perhaps even you?) a little bit happier," the IKEA website states.

In addition to a salary, IKEA will provide you with "your own temporary home in Copenhagen" and cover all travel expenses. According to the Terms & Conditions page, the salary will "[correspond] to the average Danish living standards minus average Danish taxes."

While in Denmark, contest winners will participate in "home visits, guided tours, talks and dinners and, of course, time on your own to explore."

To apply, you'll have to provide some personal information to IKEA and "create and upload a 60 second video of yourself, explaining why you are eager to investigate happiness." People from around the world, including Canada, are eligible.

If necessary, you'll need to apply for a visa to live and work in Denmark. To view the complete Terms & Conditions, click here.

You only have until July 1st to apply. Check out the contest here!

Good luck!
