Incurable Polio-Like Disease Is Now Affecting Over 30 Children In Canada
Ever since news broke that a disease similar to polio was being found in children across the U.S. people have been concerned and fearful for their own safety as well as their children's. The nightmare became even more real once the first cases had been confirmed in Canada.
TL;DR A polio-like disease is rapidly spreading across Canada, with 25 cases in children already found. Doctors have no information or knowledge on the disease that causes paralysis and neurological damage.
Things seem to only worsen as the disease, known as acute flaccid myelitis, spreads to even more kids across the country. To date, there are 25 probable cases of this faux polio in Canada.
Six cases are already confirmed in Montreal, so it's safe to say we are in the direct line of danger right now.
For those that aren't aware, the disease is causing children to become paralyzed or feel intense weakness in their limbs. Although paralysis is usually temporary, it's a growing concern that the children currently dealing with the condition will be left with permanent neurological damage.
The most terrifying part of all this is that the number of confirmed cases continues to grow. As if it couldn't get any worse, doctors have absolutely no clue what's going on or how to halt the spread of AFM.
As of now, doctors don't know what causes the disease or why it's spreading so rapidly. They also aren't sure why children tend to be the victims of the disease.
So basically, everyone is in the dark. Meanwhile the disease continues to spread across the country. There isn't any antibiotic made to slow down or stop the disease in the body either, so victims and their family can only wait and hope for the best outcome.
It's reccomended that if a child starts to show any weakness, droopy face, slurred speech, or lack of movement followed by a fever and respiratory issues then going to an emergency room ASAP is the best option.
