Montreal Weather Frost Advisory Environment Canada
  • Montreal and most regions around Southern Quebec are officially under another day of Frost Advisory.
  • This advisory comes after perhaps the first snow in Quebec, caught on video.
  • Check the video and forecast for this weekend below.

Environment Canada has issued another Frost Advisory, for the second day in a row. Plus, we've now officially seen it snow in Quebec. The advisory extends to most of Southern Quebec, blanketing most regions around the St. Lawrence.

The warning initially came on Wednesday, indicating that frost was likely for overnight Thursday. Subsequently, The Weather Network also indicated that there was a chance that it could snow in Quebec as early as this Friday.

While we didn't wake up to a winter wonderland here in Montreal, that doesn't mean the fluffy white stuff hasn't started falling elsewhere in the province.

Frost Advisories obviously do not necessarily mean snow. The advisory is released by Environment Canada mostly for farmers and other people that have crops that could be damaged by a significant drop in temperature or the development of frost when temperatures reach freezing.

But that doesn't mean we don't feel it all the same! Plus, where there is frost, snow can easily follow...

A video below shows snow falling on Mont Miller, in Murdochville, Quebec, just yesterday.

The video below says, "Prepare your skis!" as snow falls on Mont Miller in Murdochville, Quebec.

Surprisingly enough, Murdochville is not in one of the regions highlighted below by Environment Canada.

The forecast for Montreal this weekend looks like things are going to be pretty chilly on Saturday, when we're most likely to wake up with a visit from Jack Frost.

Sunday and the beginning of next week are going to bring some of that classic fall rain, and if temperatures drop any lower, particularly overnight, we definitely could be seeing some snow in the next couple days.

All we can do at this point is hope we don't get dumped on like the did in Alberta and Saskatchewan last week.

We will keep you posted if this forecast makes a turn for the worse... or better!

And if you do wake up to frost on your window or snow on your front step... send us a video! We're @MTLBlog on Instagram and Twitter.
