It's Official, Full-Time Montreal Students Over 25 To Also Get Reduced STM Rates
The STM has always offered a special discounted fares for student who purchase monthly passes.
But there are two conditions to quality for the discount: You have to be a full-time student, and you have to be under the age of 25.

The problem is that more than 40% of Quebec's students are over the age of 25 which means these requirements are considered to be discriminatory.
That's why the STM has decided to change the rules.
Starting September 1st, you no longer have to be under the age of 25 to get the student discount. As long as you are a full-time registered student you can purchase your monthly STM pass for only 49,75 $ instead of $83.
The new rules are expected to cost $3,400,000 for the fall season alone.
