When news dropped that wine-infused ice creamย existed and could be enjoyed, everyone went (understandably) crazy with excitement. Two decadent vices have beenย magically fused into one, and the world instantly became a better place. Our hearts fell once we realized we couldn't get any in Montreal, until we learned of Gelaterie Pierino, who makes their own wine and spirit ice cream right here in the city.

What began as a flavour experiment with Peach Schnapps and gelatoย has become a popular menu item for Gelaterie Pierino, with their selection of wine and liquor infused frozen delightsย growing to eleven different flavours. The alcoholic gelato isn't regularly stocked in-store, but can always be specially ordered, for events or for at-home enjoyment.

The different flavours offered by Gelaterie Pierin all vary in alcohol content, as it depends on the brand of alcohol used. What to take away from all of this, however, is yes, wine infused ice cream/gelato is available in Montreal and you can enjoy a bowl this holiday season.

Here is a list of the flavours of alcoholic gelato currently offered by Gelaterie Pierino, which again, do need to be specially ordered:

  • Peach Schnapps
  • Grappa Sorbet
  • Jack Daniels
  • Vodka Cranberry
  • Champagne
  • Merlot w/ raspberries
  • Bailey's Irish Cream
  • Frangelico with chestnuts
  • Grandmarinier with orange sorbet
  • Beer
  • Eggnog Gelato (special holiday flavour)
  • Marsala wine (special holiday flavour)

This holiday season, enjoy two comforts at the same time, and get some wine, beer, cocktail, and liquor-infused gelato at Gelaterie Pierin. Head to Gelaterie Pierin's Facebook page here for more details.
