There's been lots of talk regarding the coming ReBoot-reboot (see what I did there?).
It's going to be vastly different from the trials and tribulations of Enzo, Dot, and Bob - but the main 3 antagonists are confirmed to appear.
The series' reboot is being produced by MainFrame productions and comes 17-years after the insane cliffhanger that the series ended on.
It remains to be seen exactly how they will deal with this, but the show is taking a weird turn to a live-action/CGI hybrid. A move that I feel very conflicted about.
“We’re proud to work with the talented team at Mainframe on the distribution of this cutting-edge new series,” said Pam Westman, head of Nelvana Enterprises. “The contemporary storylines and state-of-the-art technologies of Reboot: The Guardian Code will create an awe-inspiring experience for a new generation of viewers all over the world.”
“The innovative approach used in creating ReBoot: The Guardian Code utilizing the Unreal game engine delivers a truly unique and engaging 360-degree experience for kids,” said Hefferon. “We are delighted to work with Nelvana to bring the show to audiences everywhere”.
The first official trailer for ReBoot was released yesterday, and it's serving up a ton of Power Ranger's vibes.
ReBoot: The Guardian Code will premiere globally on Netflix March 30. Sadly, and for some reason that I do not understand, the series won't be premiering in Canada until June when it hits YTV, the original home of the 90s cartoon.
A major miss for the Canadian-produced series, seeing as anyone who gives a damn about it will just stream or download it elsewhere.
Regardless, it'll be interesting to see how ReBoot: The Guardian Code sits amongst all the recent TV show's seeing a renewal.
What do you think? Will you be checking out the new ReBoot?
