It's Official, Quebec Ranked #1 For Highest Taxes In All Of Canada

It is widely known that in Montreal, QC, we are a little spoiled when it comes to cost of living.
Monthly rent here is notoriously low when compared to other big Canadian cities, and the quality of life is much higher than that of some smaller cities in Canada.
When there is a perk, there is likely going to be a catch as well. Sure, it looks good on paper to have low rent inside an amazing city with so much happening, but how do we stack up against the rest of Canada when it comes time for tax season?

Quebec officially gets taxed at a higher percentage than the rest of Canada. Sorry to report the bad news, I don't create it - I'm just telling you!
If you factor in all the differences in each province's respective tax brackets, Quebec still clearly comes out ahead with the highest % of taxes across the nation.
Well, c'est la vie. Personally, I still think the higher taxes are (sort of) worth it! At least when it comes to Montreal. I love this city, and with the cheaper rent factored in, I don't mind too much about a higher tax percentile.
Especially so when you consider receiving a tax return from both Revenue Canada and Revenue Quebec!
