Starting on August 31st, you can now officially get a Canadian passport that identifies as gender non-binary or gender neutral.
It won't explicitly say "gender non-binary" on your passport but it will replace the traditional "male" or "female" options with the ability to put an X on it if you so choose. Canada is following ion the steps of Nepal, Pakistan, Bangladesh, and Australia who have all done the same.
It's a great move for the country and a massive step forward for transgender rights. For more information on passports and how to update or renew yours, check out the Canadian government's website.
