Just when you think there couldn't possibly be any more festivals crammed into our way-too-short summer, BAM! JACKALOPE comes at you, pokes you in the face with its unholy antlers, and shows us there is still plenty of mind-blowing fun and excitement to be had in Montreal. Seriously, I don't think you're ready for this jelly.
Get ready kids, because the one-and-only JACKALOPE festival, made right here in Montreal and designed especially for all you adrenaline junkies out there, is back for its 5th edition August 19-21!
Everything from World Cup skateboarding, freestyle motocross, fixed-gear racing, slacklining, and even a mental base jump off the Olympic Tower!
This 3-day, action-packed festivalhasbeen steadily growing in girth over the last few years, and the 2016 instalment promises to be even bigger and better than ever! With over 200 athletes, 7 different extreme sports, and some 20,000 festival goers expected to take over Montreal’s Olympic Park, this is the largest event of its kind in Canada.
Among all the absolute insanity you'll get to see over the weekend, there will also be plenty of delicious munchies to be eaten courtesy of some top MTL food trucks (Aux Vivres, Dasfoodtruck, Dic Ann's, Mi Corazon Food Truck, Les Affamés), a variety of stylish popup shops to keep you looking so fresh and so clean, all capped off with huge live performances by High Klassified, The Posterz and more.
JACKALOPE will also be the location for our massive watergun fight. That's right, we've been talking about it for over a year now, and it's finally happening on Saturday, August 20! The Narcity/MTL Blog team will be on-site to get you, um... wet, so make sure to come say hi!

If you want to watch these 10,000-pound beasts go HAM with their 1,500-horsepower engines, then Monster Spectacular 2022 is the place to do it.
According to evenko, the event promoter, 12 of the world's best monster trucks will be competing on an all-new track. The event features side-by-side races, freestyle motocross, ATV & SXS races, and a backflip contest.
The event was initially set to take place on November 13, but it has been postponed until April 9 due to public health restrictions.
If you already have a ticket, hold onto it because it'll still be valid. If you don't, a spokesperson told MTL Blog there are still more tickets available.
Doors open at 5 p.m. for a pit party where you can meet the drivers and get photos with the monster trucks.
Montreal is home to some amazing food trucks. We really do take our food truck foods seriously because they're not like other food trucks. Each truck makes something completely unique and delicious that's unlike anything you've ever eaten before!
It's called Les Premiers Vendredis and it's held on the first Friday of every month for the entire summer! The festival takes places at the Olympic Stadium and you're not going to want to miss September's.
