KFC To Soon Start Selling Beer At Its Restaurants In Montreal

Yup, you read that right. KFC Canada has rolled out a new “fresh” concept and nothing says fresh like a cold one. KFC Canada’s Chief Marketing Officer, David Vivenes, announced recently that the brand’s new KFC Fresh restaurants will be rolling out a selection of domestic and imported lagers to go with their upscale “urban fast casual” menu.
The new KFC Fresh concept is in response to the growing demand for classier, fuller-serviced, fast-food joints with an emphasis on a social and relaxed environment. An extended menu features new additions such as rice bowls, grilled wraps, loaded waffle fries along with their monster chicken sandwiches and strips. After the fried-chicken giants opened their first KFC Fresh location on Younge St. in the Tdot, the brand surveyed clients and concluded that adding beer to the menu was just pure logic. Just ahead of the opening of their second location at Toronto’s Stockyard’s mall, Vivenes confirmed that they will be serving Molson Canadian, Coors Light, Coors Banquet, and Heineken beers starting this Fall.
While you will have to wait a little longer before you’re knocking them back on a fancy KFC terrasse, as locations can only be found in the GTA for the time being, KFC Canada does intend to expand into other markets, namely Montreal, naturally. All we can hope now is that Montreal locations will offer better-tasting beer.
