It's Official, Laval Is Getting Its Very Own Comiccon This Year

Amidst the seemingly endless Montreal festival season, Comiccon happened this past weekend and was a huge success. Welcoming over 60,000 visitors in the immense convention hall in Palais des Congrès, Montreal Comiccon has been one of the biggest Comiccon events in Canada for more than a decade.
With Ottawa and now, Quebec City hosting their own Comiccon events, our own Narcity Quebec reporter Izabelle Bee discovered that Laval is next in line for a huge Comiccon event that will start this fall!
According to the report, the new Comiccon event is organized by the same team that assembles the Montreal event. They'll be using the same successful formula that has made the Montreal event such a smash hit. Cosplayers, start preparing your costumes!
As one of the fastest-growing metropolitan areas in Canada, Laval is quickly becoming the place to be. With a myriad of condo developments sprouting up and the new Place Bell attracting global superstars to perform shows, Laval is officially cool.
Laval Comiccon fans rejoice because you won't have to trek all the way to the Old Port to enjoy your favourite festival! Laval's Comiccon is tentatively set for October 5th and October 6th!
As you probably know, Montreal Comiccon attracts huge celebrity guests and is incredibly popular with local cosplayers. There's really no event like it in Montreal. For a whole weekend, Montreal is the capital of all things geek.
Laval Comiccon will be a little more modest, with only 200 vendor booths and an expected attendance of 15,000.

Laval Comiccon organizers aren't skimping out on the highlights of the event, though! Attendees can expect a similar formula with celebrity guests, cosplay competitions, and a whole lot of merchandise.
Our colleagues at Narcity Quebec did some digging and found that the organizers will be releasing a more detailed information package in the next few weeks. You'll hear it here first, so stay tuned!
The event hopes to have a shuttle bus system for attendees because unlike the Montreal event, Laval's Comiccon won't be right next to the metro. Laval Comiccon will take place in the Place Sports Experts Convention Centre, almost 10 kilometres away from the nearest metro.
Fear not Comiccon fans because I'm sure they'll figure out some kind of shuttle bus system!
Stay tuned for more details including the price of admission and the celebrity guests, set to be released in the next few weeks!
