Even though we know all Valentines Day has kinda turned into a total sham, what with all the consumerist bullshit surrounding it, that doesn’t mean we can’t still use this day to express how much you love someone. And I don’t know about you, but I love my girls to absolute pieces. When lady friends stick with you through all of life’s peaks and valleys, you can create a friendship like no other. So go on and celebrate your friendship by doing something fun this February 14th! We’ve created fivedifferent scenarios for you to experience with your friends this Valentines Day
1. Treat Yo' Self
Everyone deserves a day to decompress. This guide is great for showing love to your friends and yourself.
Start: Get your day going with a yoga class. Ashantanga Yoga has amazing rates for drop-in classes so you and your friends don’t have to worry about spending a lot of money to relax. They have a variety of classes to choose like Hip-Openers and Restorative yoga, so you and your crew can have your pick and then stretch out the stress.
Then: You can never go wrong with a manicure. A good hand massage alone is enough to make you forget about the whole V-Day thing entirely. NStyle Lounge has affordable prices and amazing service, so if you and your friends are down to drop a little cash on some nail care, we recommend heading over there.
End: A day of pampering should be concluded woth a proportionate amount of vegging out. Ya’ll know the drill: Load up on some good eats (preferably something with a lot of refined sugar or anything made by the Doritos franchise), get on them sweats and snuggle up together for some quality Netflix time. Does it get better than that?
2. The Culinary Valentine
Who doesn’t love a little bit of indulgence every once and a while? This experience is made for those girls who know how to eat.
Start: Brunch is the best way to get the day going, so round up your friends and head on out. For this outing we recommend Bagels Etc., a great spot to have brunch with a twist. All of the classic brunch specials are included on the menu (Eggs Benedict, hash browns, all that jazz) but many of the main dishes are served atop a bagel, like the Huevos Rancheros. Delicious and different.
Then: Get all glammed up for an evening of eating. Who doesn’t like being the best-dressed crowd in a restaurant? For dinner we’re going to recommend Deville Diner Bar. With a cool urban diner feel (achieved by the purple lighting) white leather booths and amazing menus, it's the perfect place for you and your crew to eat great food in an amazing venue. And it's not even that expensive!
End: To finish off the night, it’s time to get your dessert on. For a nice steaming hot piece of pie, you and your friends should head over to Rockaberry. They have everything you could ever want in a dessert. The pies range from classic apple and cherry, to their famous “Rockabrownie” creation. Dig in ladies!
3. For The Wasted Heart
You and your girlfriends like to go out and get your drank on? Us too.
Start: Mimosas? Is that even a question? You and your friends are probably wonderful people and you all deserve to start your day off with a little fun. We snagged some amazing looking mimosa recipes for you concoct with your breakfast! Or if you don't like to DIY, check out these boozy brunch spots.
Then: You don’t want to have only cocktails for dinner, so try out an appetizer bar. The Baldwin Barmacie is the place to be when you’re looking for some good nosh but an even better drink. Baldwin has a great set up, with comfortable all white seating and a beautiful (not to mention stacked) bar. We suggest trying out their fresh take on the Pimms Cup.
End: End the night with some shots and good music. If you and girls go to Salon to end your evening we promise you won’t be disappointed. They have cheap drinks and they play amazing music. By the end of the night you’ll be so wonderfully wasted you won’t realize where the time went.

4. Valentines Cray
If you and your friends are a bit off the cuff and want to try something different for Valentines Day, then this list is for you!
Start: To start off your Valentines Day adventure, get going on some snow related activities. Ice skating, tobogganing, tubing and snowshoeing are all-available for you and your friends right here in the city.
Then: For a fun dinner experience get your pals over to Le Balcon Cabaret and Theatre. Le Balcon offers dinner and a show all in one lovely, singing package. For Valentines Day they have a special tribute dedicated to lovelorn artists such as Nat King Cole and Marvin Gaye. Le Balcon will be the perfect option for a love-day feast.
End: Are you and your ladies looking to end your night off with a bang? Then GlamGlam’s LOVE STINKS, Burlesque and Drag Show is the place to be! These people know how to throw a good party, complete with singing, stripping and dance parties for all to enjoy. So if you’re planning on attending, then get you and your crew lookin’ hot and ready to dance.
5. The Anti-Valentine
Finally, if you and your friends are trying to boycott Valentines Day altogether, here are some other things you could do to still enjoy your day.
Start: Honestly, sometimes the best days ever are the ones spent on your couch with your friends not doing anything, so get your bums on the couch and binge watch a Netflix series. You have so many options to choose from. Long series like Friends or the X Files are now available, but if you guys are looking to burn through something quick, The Mindy Project or The 100 are good directions to go in.
Then: For dinner, do not get up, do not get dressed. Order Chef On Call. Literally everything you need is available at your doorstep in a mere hour. It is actually pure bliss.
End: To end off your day of lovely laziness, get a bottle of cheap, cheap wine and play a nice wholesome game of Cards Against Humanity. I mean it’s fun when you’re sober, so imagine the hilarity that will ensue when you’re drunk and its only you and your buds.
