Summer is officially in it's home stretch and everyone is depressed as hell. That being said, that doesn't mean that you can't still have a wonderful weekend getaway to make the most out of your time.

Here are nine road trips you can take that are sure to knock your socks off and that you can drive to on a whim.

1. Morin Heights

Morin Heights is an hour's drive away and is one of the most underrated hotspots to go to since it's constantly overshadowed by St-Sauveur which is 20 minutes away. That means that Morin Heights is also more reserved and while you can still access anything you like, you also get more privacy than some of the busier hotspots.

This place is just a 100% beauty and it's something you have to see at least once in your life. It's a 10 hour drive but trust me it'll be more than worth. Once you witness it with your own eyes everything changes.

The Eastern Townships are one of the nicest spots along the St-Lawrence River and going there will only prove my point! A two hour drive is a small price to pay for an area that has beautiful greenery a well as a breathtaking water-side view.

With some of the nicest hiking trails in Quebec, the three hour drive time seems like a great trade-off to be able to star gaze under optimal conditions either in the great outdoors or in the world-famous Mont-Mégantic Observatory.
