Cellulite is many women's biggest nightmare, these difficult fat cells found underneath the top layer of the skin affect around 90% of women and are damaging our confidence.
Now cellulite doesn't mean you are fat, whatever our size we can have it. So what is it exactly? It is when fat cells congregate under the skin, thus creating the dimple-like appearance above the skin. While some cellulite might be hereditary, there are other causes that are easily preventable or even treatable.
So here you go ladies here are my secrets to keeping it at bay.
1. By limiting stress
Poor circulation can be caused by a stressful lifestyle, poor nutrition and even not stretching and recovering correctly after working out. You can increase circulation by first dealing with your stress and even integrating mediation or even yoga into your daily routine. Find ways of dealing with your everyday stress, for example by clearing your mind before bedtime, making lists and being organized.
2. By improving nutrition
Even though cellulite isn't like other forms of fat and directly connected to fat in food your nutrition plays a big part. Remember good nutrition helps your body fonction at it's best. Even those of you that are thin but are eating poorly are increasing your chances of having cellulite. By making specific dietary changes, you can control problem hormones and help rebuild collagen and elasticity in your skin.
3. By stretching
Stretching or even by using the new technique of foam rolling can greatly improve circulation by improving cell recovery. By foam rolling 10 to 15 minutes a day, which is effectively how the name describes it, rolling and stretching on a hard foam roll, will majorly improve circulation.
4. By staying hydrated
Staying hydrated isn't just important for our existence, but also important in avoiding stress to muscle cells, which ultimately will affect the quality of our body definition and tone.
5. By getting enough sleep
I never can stress enough the importance of good sleep in our lives. Sleep deprivation can have a huge impact on hormone activity so get your 7-8 hours.
6. By avoiding artificial sugars and preservatives
Again by having a good diet and more specifically avoiding sugars and preservatives, as they specially cause toxin build up in the body, causing hormone imbalance, fat build up and the body to function incorrectly.
7. Get your vitamins
Even though I have used the words vitamins I would highly recommend real nutrition and vitamins from real food avoiding man made or unnatural products. Now it wouldn't be realistic if I told you to get all the nutrients you need from simply eating, therefore I highly recommend Juice Plus+ capsules, which provide added whole food based nutrition from 30 different fruits, vegetables, and grains in a convenient capsule form. And can be ordered online.
8. By exercising
There is nothing better than highly targeted resistance training exercises, such as squats and lunges to target cellulite prone areas like the back of the thighs. And what is great about this type of working out, is it can be done at home in front of the television in 15 to 30 minutes depending on the results you are trying to achieve.
9. By wrapping
This can be done DIY with kitchen wrap and cream, but to keep it easy and to be more assured that it will work, I recommend the body wraps from "It Works!". Again these are available online.
10. By brushing
Did you know by dry brushing over your body in the in the direction of blood flow and constantly in the same direction you can improve circulation and ultimately reduce cellulite.
11. By moisturizing
There are lots of gels and creams on the market specifically to target cellulite but you can actually get great moisturizing and detoxifying benefits from natural substances such as Aloe Vera, Coconut Oil and the caffeine in coffee. So why not make up a stimulating homemade cream and slap it on for some amazing benefits.
