I'm going to be completely honest with you guys: summer is not my favourite season.
I prefer the in-between seasons. Spring and fall will forever share the number one spot in my heart... but that doesn't mean I don't need summer in my life. Badly.
Because honestly, there's something legit magical about summer in Montreal.
I can't exactly put my finger on what makes summer so special in the city; I don't know if it's the weather or the vibe or the sheer amount of awesome things to do. I guess it's a combination of everything, really.
The summer in Montreal means getting excited about all the festivals (like Osheaga, Piknic Électronik, and Villa Paradizo) - even if you're not going to them.
It means drinking sangria on a rooftop terrasse in the Old Port, and then walking to your favourite bar to continue the drinking festivities on another - but equally gorgeous - terrasse.
It means climbing to the top of Mont Royal and looking over the city, maybe packing a picnic, and eating your food outside. It means watching the fireworks from the Jacques-Cartier bridge. It means taking a walk and actually enjoying nature, and seeing almost everyone in the city doing the same thing... it means pure magic.
Summer in Montreal is just... well, summer. It's awesome. And honestly, I really cannot wait for it to get here.
