Pumpkin season is in full swing people, and there's more to enjoy during the seasonal harvest than PSLs or all the other Pumpkin Spice flavoured edibles of autumn. Don't get us wrong, we love Pumpkin Spice as much as y'all do, but sometimes its nice to switch things up and actually eat seasonal dishes with real pumpkin in them, rather than flavour syrup and spices. A tad daunting, yes, but Montreal's farmers markets will show you how it's done during October's Pumpkin Festivals.
To be held at three different farmers markets in the city, the Pumpkin Festival will be, as the name suggests, a day devoted to the mighty pumpkin. Tasting sessions will be held, as will mini-pumpkin decoration stations, with more to be announced as the Pumpkin Festival draws nearer.
So you don't miss any fun with pumpkins, here are the three locations and dates for Montreal's Pumpkin Festivals:
- Jean-Talon Market - Saturday, October 18th from 10am to 4pm
- Atwater Market - Sunday, October 19th from 10am to 4pm
- Maisonneuve Market - Saturday, October 25th from 10am to 4pm
Be sure to head over the official event listing for any updates, though we'll be sure to let you know more when we do. 'Til then, plan our your pumpkin platters of food, which should include and also go well beyond a basic pumpkin pie.
