The magic of Montreal summer no longer lingers in the air, and it won't for many months in the future. In case you've forgotten just how spectacular summer in this city is, a new accolade gained by Montreal's premiere outdoor concert venue, Parc Jean-Drapeau, will help you remember.
Pollstar magazine has ranked Parc Jean-Drapeau the most popular outdoor concert venue in the entire nation for 2014, as referenced by the Journal de Montreal. On a global scale, PJD ranked 13th for 2014, a big jump from 28th place in 2013, but that's okay, 'cuz we still beat out Toronto's Roger Centre in both categories.
Montreal got some other nods to its music scene in the magazine as well. Metropolis was ranked the #1 concert hall in Canada, as it did last year.
Osheaga similarly got the top spot in the nation, named Canada's most popular music festival for 2014. Montreal's favourite music-fest even ranked in the top 20 worldwide at number 17, which as JdeM points out, definitely helped Parc Jean-Drapeau become number one.
