There's something oddly soothing about riding the metro. Okay, maybe not so much during rush hour, but when you can actually get a seat or comfortably post up, the metro can be a very zen space. The whir of the wheels, the all-too-familiar metro voice, and the opening/closing of the doors create a soundscape familiar and comforting to every Montrealer.
Now you can have all the audio-ambiance of the metro system, wherever you are, thanks to William Gamache. Electronically compiling the many sounds of the STM metro, Gamache has created two videos that will take you through the orange and green line, from start to finish.
Get lost in the sounds of metro as you read a book or take a nap, all in the comfort of your home. Give a listen below.
