The Most Spine-Chilling Psychological Horror Movie You Will Ever Watch Is On Netflix Canada

Have fun trying to sleep after this.

I regularly watch and listen to all kinds of blood-curdling podcasts, tv shows, and movies. Let's just say I really love having my spine tingled.

For example, the gruesome crime and murder podcast Sword and Scale is one of my favs, and I just finished watching the Netflix documentary series I am Killer. Basically, I love horror and psychological thriller movies of all kinds; the more disturbing the better.

Since Halloween is fast approaching, I thought that it would be a great time to talk about some of the best horror and thriller films available on Netflix Canada that you need to watch ASAP.

That said, there is one Netflix film that shook me so hard, I had difficulty sleeping for at least a week after watching it. No joke.

And still to this day – which is months later – I still think about this goose-bump inducing story and its characters.

Based on a novel by Steven King, Gerald's Game is a seriously mind-bending psychological thriller about an attractive middle-aged couple that heads out to their country house for the weekend to supposedly spice up their sex life.

I won't give away too much of the story, but things – obviously – go horribly wrong after the husband is knocked dead of a heart attack, and the wife is left to fight for her life handcuffed to the bedpost in the middle of nowhere.

For such a simple premise and set-up, the film is surprisingly complex, deeply emotional, and filled with gruesome and nightmare-inducing characters.

According to a source at Esquire, the director even said that a person passed out during the original screening.

Needless to say, although this film has been out for a year now, with Halloween approaching this is the perfect horror film to watch or re-watch this fall.

If that's not enough to convince you, the film got 90% on Rotten Tomatoes, and you can check out the official trailer below which recieved 8.1 million views on YouTube.
