I'm just going to go ahead and say it: New Year's Eve can be really overrated. I can't even count the number of times I spent weeks leading up to NYE worrying about my outfit or my hair or the club or the midnight kiss only to spend the entire evening making sure my friend didn't puke in her own hair. At the end of the day, New Year's Eve is (and should always be) about whom you're with, not where you go.
TL;DR Here's a list of some great Airbnb rentals that are still available for this New Years Eve! All outside Montreal, but less than a two hour drive away.
That said... I've found some pretty sweet places that will help you get out of the city this New Years Eve with your crew (or just your special human). Some offer nearby skiing or winter wonderland hikes, others boast billiards and beautiful décor. Whatever you're after, there's something for everyone on this list and they're all within a two-hour drive from Montreal.

This place also has an old-timey stone fireplace for cozying up before your New Year's kiss. Bring 5 friends and the $200 nightly rate works out to a beyond-reasonable $33/night per person. Sweet.
Cozy Chalet on the Lake
This chalet in Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard looks way too perfect for a boys' weekend up north. They've got a pool table, dart boards, and tons of space for just hanging out — including a fireplace, leather couches, and beanbag chairs. Seriously! With room for 8 guests, the price could be as low as $72/night per person. The view is also amazing, as the chalet is right on Lac Saint-Joseph.
Charming Home in Rosemère
This amazing home in Rosemère has room for up to 14 guests and an amazing 5-star rating. Another huge bonus is that it's only 25 minutes outside Montreal, so you can save yourself a huge drive while still benefitting from all the perks of a weekend away at an Airbnb — and if you want some time in the Laurentiens, they're also less than a half hour away! The cost is $359 a night if you plan to go for New Year's Eve.
Chalet in Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard
If you're looking to spend your New Year's Eve surrounded by nature, this chalet in Saint-Adolphe-d'Howard is perfect. There's room for 5 guests and the rate is only $250 a night. The location is also ideal if you want to get some skiing in at either Mont St-Saveur or Morin-Heights. While you might end up fighting over the single bathroom, the option to have a beautiful winter bonfire pretty much makes up for it.
Cozy Chalet in Val-Morin
For those of you that feel a fireplace is a mandatory New Years staple, this cozy chalet in Val-Morin has got you covered. The cost per night is $609 but you can bring 10 friends so the price works out to less than $60/night per person. Like a lot of these places, this rental is close to a handful of ski hills if you plan to hit the slopes before doing the countdown. There isn't a ton of information included on this chalet's page but you can always reach out to the owner directly.
Mansion Vibes in Mirabel
Think of the Instas!!! This beautiful and modern home is available for only $300 a night and can host up to 10 guests in its 3 bedrooms. There's also a beautiful claw-foot bathtub and gas fireplace. This option is obviously less nature-focused than the other options but still provides the opportunity to get your friends together and get out of the city for a weekend to ring in the New Year.
