The revolution will be televised.

TV Land is quite the magical place these days, and we are seeing more and more people, including A-list actors, choosing the episodic format of a television series over box office blockbusters for that much needed escape from reality. Don't get me wrong, I love me some Breaking Bad and South Park as much as the next guy, but maybe the reason we all so desperately seek that escape is partly due to the fact that mainstream media chooses so often to portray the world in the worst possible light.
Never have we lived in a world as full of innovation and interconnectedness as we do today. Technology has revolutionized the way in which humans think and connect with each other and yet the news still focuses more on the problems we face and less on the progress we’re making. Instead of just snapshots and sound bites meant to represent the complexities of humankind, it's time we had more personal stories that showcase humanity's shared resilience and incredible achievements so we can all better relate to what's going on around us. Enter UPLIFT.
The lovechild of a local Montrealer and fellow Torontonian, UPLIFT has already surpassed it's funding goal in just the first 10 days of the 4 week campaign, but more support will help the project reach its full potential. Believe it or not, MTL Blog does have a soul, and this kind of project is something we can really get behind, as we know that change so often happens from the inside. It's dedicated homegrown trailblazers like this, celebrating and inspiring innovation, that truly give Montreal a good name. Can't wait to see the first episode!
If UPLIFT is something that resonates with you, check out the UPLIFT Facebook Page and website for more information about the show and the team, or get involved with the project and donate to the UPLIFT Kickstarter campaign.
