Montreal commuters rejoice, the STM has released an updated calendar for the installment of reserved bus lanes. Several bus-only lanes are in the works, and some set to be fully ready in a few weeks.
Four reserved bus lanes have been promised in total.
Here are the details.
- Sherbrooke St. W (NDG): Will run from 6:30am-9:30am 3:30 p.m-6:30pm, quicker service for riders of the 105-Sherbrooke and 420-Express N.D.G., to be finished in June.
- Pie-IX Blvd: Northbound (Sherbrooke to Monselet) and southbound (Monselet to Bélanger St.) routes to be installed, should be done by June.
- Grenet St: Quicker service for commuters taking buses from Côte-Vertu station in Ahuntsic-Cartierville and St-Laurent, to be finished this summer.
- Viau Blvd: Will alleviate traffic for the 136-Viau route, set to be finished this summer.
Everyone knows how frustrating it can get to be in a bus stuck in front of a slow driver or someone who can't make a turn. Reserved bus lanes, only allowing STM vehicles, will make sure everyone gets to work/school in a much speedier fashion.
Will reserved bus lanes speed up your commute?
