Major Montreal Road Closures Will Immobilize The City This Thanksgiving Weekend

Montreal residents are in for another crazy weekend complete with major bridge and road closures, and pesky, time-consuming detours.

TL;DR Long weekend traffic will only exacerbate the traffic already caused by road closures. This are the roads to avoid if you're travelling this weekend.

The whole traffic thing will likely be exacerbated by the long weekend, as thousands of Montrealers will be heading up north and out of town for the holidays.

It would be advisable to leave work early today if you do not want to get stuck in major traffic and roadblocks. Otherwise, here are all the current road closures on the island of Montreal. Plan your exit accordingly.

Highway 10

- Access to A-30 West in complete closed until October 6th at 9 a.m.

Highway 13

- Access to A-40 west is completely closed
- Ramp to A-13 south and A-40 east is completely closed
- Chomedey Expressway SOUTHBOUND On the overpass over Highway 40 Closure of 1 lane out of 3

Highway 15

- The entrance from L'Île-des-Sœurs toward A-15 north Complete closure
- In Le Sud-Ouest and Verdun In BOTH directions Between Gaétan-Laberge Blvd. and Atwater Ave. Traffic on diverted and narrowed lanes
- In Le Sud-Ouest and Verdun northbound Closure of the exit (61) and the entrance of Atwater Ave. until the end of October.
- The entrance from De La Vérendrye Blvd. to A-15 south. Complete closure of the entrance, at all times.
- In the Turcot Interchange (exit 63-E) Access ramp from A-15 South (Décarie) to A-720 EAST (Ville-Marie) Complete closure from 11:59 pm Friday to 5 am Tuesday.
- Turcot Interchange Access ramp from A-15 North to A-720 East (Ville-Marie) Complete closure, at all times.
- Turcot Interchange At the end of the access ramp from A-15 North (coming from Champlain Bridge) to A-15 North (Décarie) Closure of 1 lane out of 2, at all times, until the end of November
- Côte-des-Neiges and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Northbound between the interchange and Notre-Dame-de-Grâce Tunnel on Décarie Expressway Closure of 1 lane out of 3, at all times until the end of November.
- In Le Sud-Ouest on the Turcot Interchange (exit 68-O) access ramp from A-15 South (Décarie) to A-20 west (Lachine, airport) complete closure from 11:59 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Tuesday.

Highway 20

- In Montréal (arr. Lachine) on Montréal-Toronto Blvd. eastbound between Saint-Joseph Blvd. and Saint-Pierre Ave. complete closure.
- In Montréal In Montréal-Ouest interchange access ramp from A-20/R-138 east to R-138 east (de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Boulevard) complete closure.
- In Montréal (arr. Le Sud-Ouest) on the Turcot Interchange (exit 68-N) access ramp from A-20 EAST (du Souvenir) to A-15 north (Décarie) complete closure from 11:59 p.m Friday to 5 a.m Tuesday.

Highway 25

- In Montréal (arr. Anjou) in the Anjou Interchange access ramp from A-25 North to A-40 WEST (exit 8-O) Closure of 1 lane out of 2, at all times.

Highway 40

- In Montreal (Saint-Laurent) In the interchange of Highways 13 (Chomedey) and 40 (Félix-Leclerc) In BOTH directions - traffic on diverted and narrowed lanes.
- In Montréal (arr. Anjou) Métropolitaine Expressway In BOTH directions at des Galeries-d'Anjou Blvd. - traffic on diverted and narrowed lanes, at all times.
- Between Terrebonne and Montréal On Charles-De Gaulle Bridge (over the Rivière des Prairies) Westbound Closure of 2 lanes out of 3.

Highway 720

- In Westmount and in Montréal (arr. Le Sud-Ouest) On Greene Ave. In BOTH directions Between Saint-Antoine St. and Dorchester Blvd. Complete closure, at all times.
- In Montréal (arr. Le Sud-Ouest) In the Turcot Interchange Access ramp from A-720 WEST (Ville-Marie) to A-15 South (to Champlain Bridge) Complete closure, at all times.
- In Montréal (arr. Le Sud-Ouest, Ville-Marie) eastbound between the Turcot Interchange and the entrance of the Ville-Marie Tunnel Closure of 2 lanes out of 4, at all times.
- In Montréal westbound The exit 2 (Saint-Jacques Street) complete closure of the exit, at all times Dismantling of the A-720 WEST and traffic diversion.
- In Montréal (arr. Ville-Marie, Le Sud-Ouest) on the Turcot Interchange access ramp from A-720 west (Ville-Marie) to A-15 north (Décarie) complete closure.
- In Montréal (arr. Ville-Marie, Le Sud-Ouest) the entrance from du Fort St. to A-720 west Complete closure, at all times.
- In Montréal westbound between the end of the Ville-Marie Tunnel and the Turcot Interchange Diverted and contraflow traffic on A-720 EAST, 2 lanes only at all times.
- In Montréal (arr. Ville-Marie, Le Sud-Ouest) the entrance from Lucien L'Allier St. to A-720 west complete closure, at all times.

Route 138

- In Montréal (arr. LaSalle, Lachine) In the Saint-Pierre Interchange Access ramp from R-138 east (from Mercier Bridge) to A-20 east (downtown) Closure of 1 lane out of 2, at all times.
- In Montréal In Montréal-Ouest Interchange Access ramp from R-138 west to A-20 WEST Complete closure, at all times Access ramp from R-138 west to R-138 west (toward Mercier Bridge) Complete closure, at all times.
- In Montréal On de Sainte-Anne-de-Bellevue Boulevard (R-138) Between Pullman and Saint-Jacques Streets Contraflow traffic, 1 lane in each direction, at all times.

Local roads

- In Montréal (arr. Côte-des-Neiges-Notre-Dame-de-Grâce) On Saint-Jacques St. In BOTH directions Between Girouard Ave. and Décarie Blvd. Complete closure, at all times.
