McDonald's Canada Now Has Szechuan Sauce
McDonald's Canada has become a quirky staple of the national fast-food scene.
The cousin to the famous American chain is known for its novelty food items that cater to Canadian audiences.ย

And now, McDonald's Canada has announced that for a limited time this summer its fabled szechuan sauce will make a long-awaited return.
For those who don't know, the McDonald's szechuan sauce has a storied history:
The sauce first appeared alongside chicken mcnuggets as a promotional item in 1998 for the animated film Mulan. Long after the sauce disappeared from the menu, it gained fame among Rick and Morty fans when it was featured in the episode "The Rickshank Redemption," which recounts the titular character's obsession with the "Mulan sauce."
The legendary sauce gained so much popularity among Rick and Morty fans that McDonald's brought the sauce back for one day only in October 2017. Hundreds turned out to get a taste of the now meme-famous condiment.
This year, McDonald's decided to bring it back for a longer, but still finite period of time.ย
The sauce is available on burgers and on the side of some meals. It is unclear if you can order it separately with any menu item, but I am definitely going to try.
McDonald's szechuan sauce is availableย starting todayย (June 18th) and will grace the fast-food chain menu only through Canada Day, July 1st, 2018!
If we all show up to order it, we may persuade the company to bring it back for an even longer period next time...
