You Have Been Lied To: McDonald's Is NOT Going To Be Delivering Food In Montreal

The internet was buzzing yesterday when a few blogs announced that McDonald's was planning on starting a food delivery service in Montreal, and naturally, I got excited too. So I read the article from buzzbonin claiming that McDonald's CEO announced the delivery service as part of a plan to revitalize the business. The source they listed for this information was Canoe, so I read that article too (which did not quote a source), and they also claimed that this was part of the CEO's announcement. So I found that announcement on Business Insider and to my surprise I couldn't find any mention of food delivery.

All I found was a quote that said: "The company will be restructured into four market segments: the US; international lead markets (Australia, Canada, France, Germany, UK)" The closest thing I found to the word "delivery" in the entire article was this sentence: "McDonald's restaurants need to deliver great-tasting, high-quality food with better service each and every time."

Of course "deliver" wasn't meant as "food delivery", they obviously mean that McDonald's wants to provide or serve better food. But perhaps the fooled bloggers didn't catch that, or maybe they were just purposely trying to mislead you for a little bit of traffic.

Just in case, I called McDonald's and they confirmed that there are NO plans whatsoever to start a McDonald's food delivery service in Quebec "anytime soon."

I don't know about you, but I haven't given up hope just yet.
