Over the weekend, rumours swirled that the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, formerly Meghan Markle, were planning to move out of Kensington Palace to the London suburbs.

When the Palace confirmed the move, reports surfaced that "tension" between Meghan and the Duchess of Cambridge, the former Kate Middleton, was one motivating factor.
A source told the Daily Mail, for example, that the two duchesses are too different to be friends.
These reports are too vague to be believable. Fans of the royal family should also always be skeptical of tabloid reports, which tend to fabricate feuds between powerful women.
Of course, Meghan and Kate do not need to be friends. All families are full of simply cordial relationships. The high-profile positions of the duchesses and their domination of tabloid and fashion headlines, however, heighten the stakes of their relationship in the public eye.
Whatever the situation in the palace, fans of the two women have wasted no time coming to their defense. Two competiting camps have now clearly formed, according to Maclean's.
