You may not have noticed until you stepped out this morning, but a significant amount of snow fell on Montreal last night while most people were asleep.
To be more specific, about 10 c.m. fell on the city in the small hours of the morning. The snow later changed into drizzling rain that made commutes a little difficult this morning. This is the most it's snowed in Montreal on February 21, 2018 since 1968
TL;DR This is the most it's snowed in Montreal on February 21, 2018 since 1968. It's been over 50 years since we've had a snowstorm like this.
As the winter dies down, I am looking forward to warm, sunny, snow-free weather. But, we've got another little while before that happens. Winter likes to remind us that she is still here with extreme weather changes.
Last night's storm, for example, was the most it has snowed on February 21 since 2018.
The Twitter account YULweatherrecords, run by a weather historian, tweeted this out this morning:
More snow is yet to come in the next few days: on Sunday another 5-10 cm of snow are expected, and flurries will continue well into Monday.
Hold on to your tuques, grab your skis and go outside!
