Montreal Businesses The Quebec Language Police Are Investigating Right Now
The OQLF is the Office Quebecois de la Langue Francaise and their job is making sure that every Montreal businesses adheres to the rules of the language code.
Although when we talk about them, it's usually for things like harassing small business owners or for coming up with their own ridiculous translations for words that don't exist in French.
Businesses are constantly under the scrutiny of the OQLF for various offenses such as not having proof of registration, not providing a language assessment on time, not having a certificate of “francisation” or if they break the rules of articles 135 to 154 of the language chart.
