Montreal Is About To Experience Another, Even Longer Heatwave

Despite a late start to the summer, Quebec has already experienced three scorching heatwaves, and the warm weather doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon.

Météomedia is predicting another heatwave for the province, calling it "the worst heatwave of the season." According to the website, this heatwave is likely going to be even hotter and longer than what we've experienced so far.

Though we've had a few days of much-need respite from last week's suffocatingly humid and hot weather, the warm weather will return tomorrow, and it could last for at least six days.

According to Météo Média, the temperatures are going to start climbing today, and continue climbing until next Monday. Humidex values are going to reach a high of almost 40 degrees.

According to Météo Média, the humidity will be "stifling" starting on Sunday.

Though, for now, the heatwave is predicted to last six days, Météo Média states that it may last much longer than this, as there is a lot of uncertainty around the exact length of this heatwave.

This heatwave will affect all of Québec. It will be the first time this summer that the Gaspésie region will experience temperatures above 30 degrees.

The hottest days should be Monday and Tuesday, when the temperature is expected to reach close to 40 degrees with humidex.

With the high humidity comes the risk of thunderstorms. In fact, thunderstorms have already been predicted for many parts of Quebec including the Laurentides, Montreal and the south of Québec starting tonight.
