Montreal Is Being Ravaged By The Wind And There Is Trash Everywhere (Videos)

Environment Canada has issued a "Special Weather Statement" due to the insane wind that is whipping through Montreal and the surrounding areas today.

The winds are expected to reach at least 80 km an hour and the repercussions are blatantly obvious: there's trash everywhere, people are practically getting blown over and visibility is seriously reduced on many major roadways.

As the tweet above shows, many roads are facing closures due to reduced visibility. The wind has caused blowing snow and there have been several accidents, including the one linked above.

An MTL Blog reader sent the video below to us showing the mass amounts of trash being blown around the outside of their apartment.

Be safe out there, folks!

not in Montreal

February 25, 2019

While the official cause of the 20-car accident on the 15 south is still unknown, TVA speculated early on that it was because of the weather conditions.

Wind causes blowing snow that can seriously reduce visibility, particularly when you're travelling at highway speeds.

If you could hear this wind in Montreal

February 25, 2019

Yesterday in Montreal included rain, freezing rain, periods of sudden, heavy snow, and HAIL. All in the span of maybe 6 hours. Today is crazy wind and blowing snow. Doesn’t feel like spring is anywhere near here either. 🤷‍♀️

February 25, 2019

If you live in the city and don't have to commute home today, be grateful! While the wind is fierce, it's a lot less dangerous to be on foot than on the highway.

And, as always, send us your photos and videos of your Montreal moments either on our Facebook or Instagram page @MTLblog.
