Montreal Is Colder Than Alaska Today

In case you didn't realise, or you happen to be magically immune temperature fluctuations, you probably noticed that it's cold outside.

Like painfully cold.

TL;DR It feels like -25°C in Montreal. Meanwhile in Alaska it feel like -6°C

This morning the wind was blowing so hard I could actually feel my eyeballs freezing, and the one thought that keeps plaguing me is that this kind of weather is not normal for the month of November.

The average high for this time of the year is supposed to be 3.7°C. Today in Montreal it’s -16°C and with the wind chill it feels like -25°C. In 2017 it was almost 8C outside.

It's actually colder in Montreal today than it is in Alaska!

Not impressed by that fact? Fine, Montreal is also colder than Oymyakon in Russia, which is one of the coldest inhabited places on Earth.

Luckily the temperature will be back to normal starting this weekend. It won't be warm, but compared to the -25°C we're experiencing this morning -1C seems like a tropical paradise
