Montreal Is Getting 2 Brand New STM Bus Lines

Public transport is the best and cheapest way to get around Montreal. With the recent news that Société de transport de Montréal(STM) employees were going on strike yet again, commuters were skeptical that any good news would come in the next couple of weeks.

To compensate for this strike, STM has created 2 new bus lines, which will be effective August 27th, 2018 and available 7 days a week.

35 Griffintown Line

Via STM

When: From 6 a.m. to 10:30 p.m, every 20 minutes (rush hour), otherwise every 30 minutes beyond rush hour and on weekends.

Where: connects the Sud-Ouest to downtown and leaves from Place-Saint-Henri métro station, through to Notre-Dame Street, Saint-Henri and Petite-Bourgogne neighbourhoods and then to Griffintown. This line will also be beneficial for those living in the Ville-Marie borough (Cité-du-Multimédia and the Quartier international districts) and ends in the Quartier des Spectacles

81 Saint-Jean-Baptiste Line

Via STM

When: Monday-Friday, 6:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.; Saturday and Sunday from 7:30 a.m. to 9:00 p.m. Runs every 25 minutes, every day.

Where: this line connects north-south, will decrease commuters' travel time and their number of transfers. This line will provide access to a variety of businesses between Pointe-aux-Trembles and Rivière-des-Prairies. This line will also provide better access to the Rivière-des-Prairies train station
