Montreal Is Getting An All-New Dim Sum Bar In The Old Port

This will be the summer spot.
Montreal Is Getting An All-New Dim Sum Bar In The Old Port

If you enjoy hitting up St-Lo on a Friday or Saturday night, you've probably been to École Privée,  one of Montreal's busiest and most popular clubs.

Owner Tongue Bui, a longtime Montreal nightlife authority has a new project in the works. A Dim Sum restaurant fused with a nightlife-inspired bar experience.  To put it more simply, a Dim Sum bar.

For a very long time, Montrealers could only choose between the two experiences: Dim Sum or bar.  Frustratingly never able to enjoy both under the same roof.

But all this has changed, thanks to JIAO. This is a totally new concept for Montrealers, and we are so excited to try it!

JIAO Dim Sum Bar is set to open shortly, in Spring 2018 to be specific.  In a perfect Old Port location on Notre Dame Street West, not too far from busy Griffintown and Mcgill campus.

The restaurant is designed by Atelier Lovasi the creative team behind some beautiful interiors you probably have dined or partied in such as Suwu, Apt 200, and Cafe Melisse.

Talking food, Dim Sum will obviously be the main attraction.  And although the Dim Sum in the photo is not from JIAO - the restaurant isn't actually open yet - you can expect a traditional Chinese driven menu with a twist.

Now on the party side of things, the bar concept comes nicely into play. Not only will you be able to enjoy mouth-watering Dim Sum, but you can sip on a fancy drink too. Signature cocktails and premium sake and wine will be on the menu. Date night? Hint hint.

JIAO will be open for lunch and dinner, and even have a late night take-out window for when you're craving a post-club carbohydrate binge.
