And to help celebrate the summer, one Montreal cycling festival is back.
Velo Quebec's Go Bike MTL Festival is a huge, city-wide bike festival that takes place annually in Montreal. This year, it's celebrating its 50th anniversary, and its two major events will take place on Friday, June 2 and Sunday, June 4.

The Tour De La Nuit is going down on the 2nd, and it's basically a huge nighttime bike ride. The route begins at Parc La Fontaine at 8:30, and goes for 20 KMs. For this event, most of the streets get closed off as of 6:45 PM.
The Tour De L'Ile is happening on June 4; that's a giant Montreal-wide daytime bike ride. It begins at 9:15 AM on Parc Avenue, and can go for 28, 50, 65, or 100 KMs.
Both events reserve the roads for participating cyclists only, meaning that the roads will be closed off to cars. So if you're driving, the city will probably be a mess - but no worries, if you're wondering what you should avoid, I've got your back.
Keep in mind that these are just the major streets you totally should be avoiding on June 2 and June 4. For parking information and more specific times/street information, and for more info about the Tour De L'Ile/Tour De La Nuit, including rates and routes, check out the official Velo Quebec website right here.
