Montreal Is Hosting A “Butterfly Festival" At Jardin Botanique

One of the most popular events at the Jardin Botanique is back again for the 10th year in a row!

It's called Papillons en Liberté (AKA Butterflies Go Free).

For a limited time, the Main Exhibition Greenhouse in the Botanical Gardens will be packed with thousands upon thousands of butterflies.

20,000 to be exact.

Between February 23 and April 29, 2018, the butterflies will be released 100 at a time to ensure the room contains at least 2,000 butterflies from 50 different species, at any given time.

Once you're standing in the warm, spa-like room filled with flowers, perfumes, and of course, butterflies, you'll never want to leave. It's the perfect place to forget about winter.

As a special bonus, this year the Insectarium will be giving tips on how to create your own inviting environment for butterflies so you can recreate the Butterflies Go Free experience in your own garden!
