Spring is in the air, and with the great thaw comes delicious maple syrup goodness. Sugar shacks are one of the best reasons to get back to nature if ever there was one, but if you don't have a chance to get out of the city this year, Verdun will be hosting its annual urban sugar shack.

The 5th edition of Cabane Panache et bois rond is back to take over Promenade Wellington starting next Friday March 27. Like any good festival, Cabane Panache will feature lots of good food and drink to sample, but all with a maple syrup twist of course.

Participating restaurants this year will include:

  • Blackstrap BBQ
  • Tripes & Caviar
  • La Queue de poisson
  • Station W
  • Balconville
  • Restaurant Wellington
  • Sweet Lee’s
  • Fromagerie Copette & Cie
  • Augusto Al Gusto
  • Café La Tazza

Along with all the tasty treats and lumberjacks on display this year, there will also be lots of fun games and activities. Climb the rope bridge, try your hand at the game of wooden blocks, shoot around some old-school hockey pucks, play in the musical kitchen (the same one that was at Nuit Blanche) or go skiing in teams using comically giant equipment.

Cabane Panache et bois rond starts Friday March 27 from 5pm to 9pm, and will run all-day Saturday and Sunday from 11am till 5pm.

Check out the Promenade Wellington Facebook Page and website for all the details.
