Is there anything better than dumplings? I mean, I love dumpling of all types, from all countries under all pseudonyms. Whether you wanna call them ravioli, perogies, gyoza or dumplings, I'm here for any food that is served to me in a cute little doughy package.
So I was BEYOND excited to see this all-new dumpling and soup shop called Petit Poisson Dumpling has opened up on Sainte Catherine Ouest.
TL;DR Montreal's newest hidden gem is this dumpling shop that just opened yesterday at 1813 Saint-Catherine St Ouest! Hours are 11 AM to 10 PM every day, and as of now they are accepting cash only. Check out our pics below!
Believe it or not, these guys are so new, they don't even have a Facebook or Instagram page up yet.
But have no fear, we've got pictures of their menu and the awesome decor inside so that you can take a look at what could very well become your all-new favourite dumpling shop.
They've got a bunch of selections when it comes to their dumplings, including several vegetarian options.
Also, shout-out to whoever made the menu because this girl cannot do coriander/cilantro and I've chomped into one too many dumplings with that devil lettuce inside without knowing... it's why I have trust issues.
(Kidding about the devil lettuce for all your cilantro fans, I get that you think it's amazing. It's not my fault it tastes like soap to me, okay!?)
Also on the menu, you'll find several types of soup, including the fan-favourite hot and sour soup and a chicken wonton soup that is definitely going to be one of the first things I try when I go eat there.
I'm also super interested in the sweet potato cake that they have as dessert! I've never had one and I'm guessing if it's the only dessert they offer, it's likely amazing.
This looks like a seriously great place to bring a couple pals, snag a booth and share a couple different types of dumplings... until you find your favourite one. That's when you know it's time to go back alone so you don't have to share.
Or just order a bunch of one kind and send yourself into a sweet, sweet dumpling coma.
The decor is clearly super fresh and fun. I love the pop-art portraits paired with the neon signs and a nice doses of greenery.
Be sure to head on by the next time you need a comforting soup or some dumplings to-go for lunch.
Like I said above, I can't link to their site at this point, since they don't have one yet.
But you can find them at 1813 Saint-Catherine St Ouest and their opening hours are above.
