Montreal Karaoke Spots To Sing Your Heart Out

The best spots to embarass yourself.
Montreal Karaoke Spots To Sing Your Heart Out

Even the shyest of us need to let loose some days and sing our little hearts out sometimes, and karaoke joints around town provide the perfect mix of alcohol and fellow pseudo-rockstars to get you passionately belting out that 90’s jam you usually “never listen to” but secretly love to shreds.

We have your back with these crooning saatches to get your boogie on this weekend.

3 Minots (3812 St Laurent)

A McGill favourite for its proximity to campus and the student ghetto, this dive has a big stage that’s perfect to hold your backup singers as well as yourself, and a large binder full of songs to choose from. Another perk is the bar’s $4 pint special on Thursdays to get your vocal chords loosened up and all your shame benched. Stay on the owner’s good side though: he has a tendency of skipping over songs he’s not a fan of.

Le St Sulpice (1680 Rue Saint-Denis)

Summer’s come and gone, meaning that one of the best features of St Sulpice—its massive outdoor patio—will soon be out of use. Don’t fret, though, because its karaoke offerings will mend your heartbreak. Located in the basement of this multi-level bar, the karaoke section is a smaller nook that’s perfect for those of you that prefer a smaller audience. Also, there is no stage which means that your audience is more likely to participate if you let them. And if you get tired of singing, hop a floor over to get a different vibe on the dance floor, or grab a booth for conversation over $16 pitchers.

Pang Pang (1226 Rue MacKay)

This bar offers a bit of a different concept than most karaoke bars in the city by providing private rooms for bar-goers, so you can sing amongst your group of friends just as if it were your own living room. Each room is equipped with its own TV and microphones, and is largely soundproofed so no one outside the room will hear those high notes you attempt that sound more like baby seagulls than angels. Alcohol is sold by the bottle here, so its slightly on the pricier side, but is actually pretty economical if you are with five or six people.
