Montreal Opens Beaver Lake For Outdoor Ice Skating

It's surrounded by forest and feels like an escape from the city.

If you've been in Montreal for any amount of time, then you know one thing: Montrealers LOVE Mount Royal.

And for a very good reason - it's pretty much the best. There are the best views of the city, nature trails, forests... and, of course, the above and beyond gorgeous Beaver Lake.

Every winter, Beaver Lake transforms into a frozen tundra of awesome, perfect for ice skating. And this year is no different.

Normally open from December until March, the Beaver Lake natural skating rink is totally free to skate on. Renting skates will cost you about $10, though.

Beaver Lake is open for skating every day, if the weather conditions permit, from 9 AM - 9 PM on the weekdays and from 9 AM - 10 PM on the weekends.
